Charles Morton Share was the son of pioneer merchants, Lizzie and Charles Share. He served in WWI, was active in the Presbyterian Church. The Share family were both astute and thrifty and were able to gather a sizeable fortune. Near the end of his life, Charles (or Corky as he was called) established the Charles Morton Share Trust. Grants from this trust have, over the years, funded the library, hospital, professional building (where this mural is located), the wellness facility at NWOSU, Bill Johnson Correctional Center and many other worthwhile projects in the city of Alva.
